Get out of the lack of ideas with creative techniques

«Wow, I would like to be that creative!» We hear this saying very often. There is a spark of imagination in every person. Sure, there are people who are almost bursting with ideas and others who somehow always seem to be on the wrong track. But creativity expresses itself in many different ways. And with a few ingenious creative techniques, even the seemingly most unimaginative can be tickled. Here we present our five favorite methods. Because yes, we sometimes need a little jump-start too.

Our TOP 5 creative techniques

1. Do a headstand
Ok, don’t take us too literally here. Of course, you don’t have to do any sport here, but turn your problem upside down. Instead of looking for an idea how to increase the sales of a product, think about which measures would definitely fail. Sounds abstruse, but it helps immensely to look at the topic from a different perspective. And you can also have fun with this creative technique. In the end, of course, you have to get the whole thing back on its feet: which of the ideas can be reversed? Is it possible to further develop one or the other idea and use it for the better? There is definitely something useful in there.

2. Learn the ABCs
With this creative technique, you take a sheet of paper and write all the letters of the alphabet one below the other on the left edge. Now concentrate on your task. As an example we can take the party planning of your company Christmas party. Then start writing whatever comes to mind in relation to the respective letter. All lines should be filled. You will definitely come up with topics that you had not thought of before. Your party concept will definitely be very innovative!

A – Arrival
B—Buffet
C – chillout area
D – DJ
E – Invitations

3. Time for a painting lesson
We’ve already heard you say: “But I can’t paint at all!” In this case, however, that is also unimportant. Grab a sheet of paper and preferably colored pencils – colors give the brain additional stimuli. Paint on it, draw whatever’s on your mind. These can be objects, stick figures or abstract patterns. Everything is allowed with this creative technique. The main thing is that we distract our brains from the deadlocked ways of thinking. This clears the way for new ideas!

4. Change your wallpaper!
Sometimes you are close to a deadline, but the basic idea is still missing. That’s stressful. And also blocked. Because the more you fixate on a question, the less room there is for creativity. So close the laptop, get some fresh air or listen to your favorite music. And just come down. The new environment works like a miracle and provides distance. Next time, it’s best to plan such little breaks in advance. This won’t mess up your schedule, but it will stimulate your creativity.

5. Snacking allowed!
And if none of that helps, here’s our videodesign insider tip: A piece of Swiss chocolate! This always brings us to completely new thoughts and thus new ideas. Just try out our very own creative technique!

Put our creativity to the test!

You have absolutely no idea how to implement your message? Or do you already have precise images in mind? No matter how mature the idea of your video project already looks, we are happy to work on it!
